Where to Eat in Corsicana, Texas

Start with the obvious: Collin Street Bakery, baking its world-famous DeLuxe Fruitcake since 1896. Beyond the fruitcake, it's a genuine destination for cookies, pies, cinnamon rolls, apple turnovers, and pastries — a sweet slice of Corsicana history you can taste.

For a different kind of nostalgia, Across the Street is home to one of the oldest soda fountains in Texas, serving classic diner fare — breakfast plates, burgers, and handmade milkshakes — from a vintage soda-fountain counter. It's the kind of old-school spot that gives downtown Corsicana its character.

Corsicana has good barbecue, with Smokin Guns BBQ a local favorite for its smoked brisket, ribs, and hearty sides in a rustic, laid-back setting, and Tucker Town BBQ among the other well-regarded options around town.

For a sit-down dinner, the Corsicana Steakhouse — connected to the Corsicana Opry — offers a cozy, timeless vibe with a menu that carries some Eastern European and Armenian influences alongside the steaks, a quirky local twist. Between the smokehouses and the steakhouse, the Texas-meat side of the menu is well covered.

Corsicana's large Hispanic community supports excellent Mexican food. Birrieria Aguinaga is a standout for authentic birria — birria tacos, birria pizza, and rich homemade consomé — made with fresh ingredients and bold flavor, and the city has plenty of other taquerias and Mexican restaurants.

Downtown adds more range. Across the Street Bistro brings global flavors to the historic district, and Fuji Grill offers Japanese food and sushi in the heart of downtown. With the revitalized downtown drawing new restaurants and the usual chains lining the I-45 corridor, Corsicana eats better and more variedly than its size might suggest.
