Corsicana's food story starts with two exports. Collin Street Bakery has baked its DeLuxe Fruitcake here since 1896, and Wolf Brand Chili began as a nickel bowl sold from a wagon in downtown Corsicana in the 1890s. Today most of the eating happens in two places: the historic downtown around Beaton and Commerce streets, and the long stretch of West 7th Avenue (SH 31) across town. It's an easy stop off I-45 between Dallas and Houston.
Here's where to eat in Corsicana.
Collin Street Bakery and the Wolf Brand Corner
Start with Collin Street Bakery. A German immigrant baker and a local cotton buyer founded it in 1896, and the original store and headquarters are still at 401 W 7th Ave. Fruitcake ships worldwide from here, but the shop also sells cookies, pies, breads, and its pineapple cake.
Corsicana's other well-known food came from the street. Lyman T. Davis sold his chili for a nickel a bowl from a wagon downtown in the 1890s. He later canned it as Wolf Brand Chili, named for his pet wolf.
Downtown: Beaton and Commerce Streets
The block of North Beaton Street has some history. 125 N Beaton was Hashop's, a pharmacy and soda fountain founded in 1905 and later the Across the Street Diner. It's now Across the Street Bistro, where chef Andreas Kotsifos serves hand-selected steaks, seafood, and classic dishes, with a full bar. On the same block, 3 Sisters Sweets & Eats at 123 N Beaton is a bakery and café for sweets and a casual lunch.
Napoli's Italian Restaurant & Bar has served pizza and pasta on East Collin Street since 2006. North Commerce Street has two Mexican kitchens a block apart. Más Queso is a family-owned Tex-Mex spot known for enchiladas and stuffed tamales. Cocina Las Tres Marias serves breakfast and lunch with handmade tortillas, chilaquiles, gorditas, and menudo. Cocina Azteca, in a historic building on West 3rd Avenue, makes flour tortillas daily and serves breakfast all day. For something cold, XOXO Boba is on North Main.
Mexican Food Across Town
Old Mexican Inn Restaurant & Cantina has been on West 7th Avenue since 1974. It's known for chicken fajita nachos, its orange dip, and margaritas. Nearby, El Mexicano Grill serves enchiladas verdes and caldo de mariscos with a full bar, and La Pradera is a Tex-Mex spot known for big fajita and enchilada plates. Taco Shop makes burritos, crunchy tacos, and tamales to order.
Off 7th, La Cabaña on North 24th Street serves Tex-Mex plates, street tacos, and weekend menudo. Its owner opened La Poblanita on South 20th Street in 2025. Taqueria Las Comadres on South 18th does tacos, parrillada, and aguas frescas like horchata and tamarindo, and Alma's Cocina Mexicana on West 13th is a small family kitchen with home-style cooking.
Italian, Asian, Comfort Food, and Barbecue
Italian Village is a Corsicana Italian restaurant that moved from North 24th Street to West 2nd Avenue in late 2024. On West 7th, Ellinya Italian Restaurant has been family-run since 2019. Chinese food has deep roots on the same road: Summer Palace has been open since 2004, and Classic Wok, family-owned since 2009, has a drive-thru. Fuji Sushi & Grill serves sushi, sashimi, and hibachi plates, and Food Belly Indian Cuisine on South 7th Street serves curries, tikka, and kebabs.
For Southern cooking, Arlene's Kountry Kitchen on Regal Drive is a locally owned soul-food kitchen. Bottlecap Alley Icehouse Grill is an icehouse-style bar and grill known for burgers and chili cheese fries. Moontower at the Oaks pairs pub food like brisket tacos and fried pickles with golf. Barbecue is thinner in town than you might expect: the Circle P Bar B Que food truck on West SH 31 and a Dickey's on West 7th.
For sweets, Navarro Donuts makes donuts and kolaches, and Snowie Town on South Frey Street offers shaved ice (pickle is a flavor) and boba. For a drink, Marshall's Tavern on South 7th is a 21-and-up bar with live music, billiards, and darts.
