Little Elm Guide

Things to Do in Little Elm, Texas

Little Elm is a lake town at heart, built on a peninsula in Lewisville Lake and organized around a genuine sandy beach and a lakefront entertainment district. Between the beach, a wake park, and a full calendar of festivals, it has more going on than most suburbs its size.

Here's what to do in and around Little Elm.

The Lakefront at Little Elm

The Lakefront at Little Elm is the town's centerpiece — a family-friendly entertainment district on the shore of Lewisville Lake with restaurants, bars, beer gardens, and event space, all walkable and connected by a free electric-cart shuttle. It's where the town gathers, especially in the warm months.

With the beach, the dining, and regular events all in one lakeside stretch, the Lakefront is the reason Little Elm feels like a destination, and it's the natural place to start a visit.

The Beach and the Lake

Little Elm Beach is a rare thing in North Texas — a real sandy swimming beach, with one of the largest open swim areas in the region, ten beach volleyball courts, and kayak and paddleboard rentals. The enclosed, boat-free swim zone makes it genuinely family-safe.

Beyond the beach, Lewisville Lake offers boating, fishing, and miles of shoreline, with the 4-mile Lakefront Trail running along the water. The lake is the heart of everything in Little Elm.

Wake Park and Water Fun

For a more active day, Hydrous Wake Park has a cable park for wakeboarding and a floating Aqua Park of inflatable obstacles, and The Cove is a large indoor water park with a FlowRider surf machine, a lazy river, and a deep pool.

Between the beach, the wake park, and the indoor water park, Little Elm has an unusual number of ways to spend a day on or in the water.

Festivals

Little Elm Park hosts a full calendar of festivals through the year: The Big Easy, a Mardi Gras celebration in late winter; Brew & Que in June, celebrating Texas barbecue and craft beer; July Jubilee on the Fourth with a big fireworks show over the lake; and Autumn Fest in September with rides, live music, and seasonal food.

The events give the town a rhythm and draw crowds from around the area, adding to the lake-town feel that sets Little Elm apart.
