Melissa is one of the fastest-growing towns on US-75 north of McKinney, and its restaurants are mostly new, clustered along Sam Rayburn Hwy, McKinney St and the Washington Dr and Sentinel Way centers. Our directory lists more than 50 places in town. Here's where to eat.
Tex-Mex and taquerias
Maria's Mexican Restaurant at 2321 Sam Rayburn Hwy is a family Mexican restaurant that has served Tex-Mex plates and margaritas since 2016. Tias Mexican Grill (1280 Sam Rayburn Hwy, since 2021) has a mixed-beverage permit, and Guadalajara Cocina Mexicana (since December 2023) has a small bar.
For tacos, Celestino's Tacos is a counter inside The Beverage Store building on Sam Rayburn Hwy (since April 2025), and Tacos El Gordo is near Buc-ee's on Bucees Blvd (since August 2025).
Barbecue, pizza and a wine bar
True Texas BBQ, H-E-B's barbecue restaurant, is at 1230 Central Expy and smokes its meats in-house over hardwood; it has a drive-thru. The Red Feather at 2617 Sentinel Way is a winery-run wine bar and restaurant with a full liquor permit, open since 2021.
For pizza, Yonx Pizza Bar & Co. on McKinney St is the second location of the Wylie pizzeria, with a full bar, and Mountain Mike's Pizza is on Washington Dr.
Breakfast, Asian and sweets
Noni's Brunch House on Milrany Ln serves chicken-fried steak and eggs, skillets, crepes and Venezuelan-style pastelitos and tequeños. Sunview Cafe on Sentinel Way serves breakfast and lunch. For Asian food: Lau Ba Thai on Sam Rayburn Hwy (since 2022), Doshi on Washington Dr (Korean and Japanese takeout, since January 2024) and Fàn Chinese Restaurant on McKinney St.
Sugar Babes Donut Shop & Deli has been on Sam Rayburn Hwy since 2017. Pie Paradise opened in July 2025, and Gravity Creamery & Cafe opened in May 2026.
New chains and McKinney
Chick-fil-A and Chipotle both opened at Melissa Crossing in June 2026, alongside an older run of Sonic, Braum's and Starbucks. McKinney has a much bigger restaurant scene around its historic square.
