Midlothian's directory lists more than 75 restaurants, cafés and bars that have street addresses. They cluster in three places: the small downtown around 8th Street, Main Street and Avenues F and G; the Kroger center and other strips along FM 663; and the US 287 and US 67 corridors, where the chains and the newer Nicolette Creek and Harvest Hill developments sit.

Downtown: 8th Street, Main Street and Avenue F
Most of downtown Midlothian's restaurants are locally owned.
On N 8th St:
- Branded Burger Co. at 100 N 8th St has served burgers with a full bar since 2013 and has been under new ownership since late 2019.
- Bovine at 128 N 8th St opened in 2023.
- Twisted Sisters Tap House at 138 N 8th St focuses on draft beer.
- Kim & Jenny's at 133 N 8th St is a daytime American restaurant that closes at 2 p.m.
- Wong's Express at 135 N 8th St does Chinese takeout.
- Mi Casa at 300 N 8th St has been a Tex-Mex restaurant and bar since 2024.
On the avenues, The Porch Pour at 319 E Avenue G is a farm-to-table restaurant and wine bar in an 1890s Victorian house with a greenhouse-style veranda. Wilson's Seafood & Grill at 322 E Avenue F serves New Orleans–inspired gumbo, fried catfish and grilled seafood in a converted church building at Founders Row. Penn To Paper at 214 W Avenue F has been a restaurant and cocktail bar since early 2022. Mr. Jim's Pizza at 304 W Avenue F has been there since 2006. Fire-Spice Chicken & Cocktails opened in December 2024 at 400 W Avenue F, in the original Jalapeños Lemon Pepper building.
On Main Street, Donut King at 204 W Main St is an independent donut shop. Villa Italiana at 202 W Main St and Roma's Italian Bistro at 301 W Main St (open since December 2024) are both Italian. Midlo Scoops at 101 S 3rd St is an ice cream parlor.
Barbecue and Burgers
Ellis County BBQ at 700 Silken Crossing, just off US 287, has been locally owned and operating since 2008. It serves smoked meats, burgers and a full bar.
The directory lists more burger restaurants. Besides Branded Burger Co. downtown, Hideout Burgers in the Oasis center at 1601 S 9th St has been open since 2012 and is separately owned from the Mansfield Hideout Burger. Lonestar Burger at 1000 E Main St opened in 2024. It's Nacho Average Bar & Grill opened at 513 George Hopper Rd in October 2025, in the former Fuzzy's Taco Shop building.
Tex-Mex and Mexican
Tio Tony's Fine Mexican Food at 110 N 13th St is family-owned and has served Mexican food with a full bar since 2010. Jalapeños Lemon Pepper, a family-owned Tex-Mex restaurant and bar, moved in 2024 from W Avenue F to 1000 George Hopper Rd, the former Beef 'O' Brady's building.

Italian, Asian and More Along FM 663 and US 287
Bellucci's Italian in the Kroger center at 2000 FM 663 is run by the Cucci family, who opened The Original Pizza & Italian Villa in Arlington in 1979. Mo And Hari's at 4470 E Main St is an Italian bistro with a full bar, and the name has operated at that suite since 2015.

- Blue Mint Thai on Aspen Pkwy.
- Pho Duc at 1000 E Main St, a sister location of Pho Duc in Mansfield.
- Pho N Wok at 4470 E Main St.
- Adoriana Sushi & Grill at 2050 FM 663.
- Hibachio at 402 E Main St, which also has a Waxahachie location.
Eggsquisite Cafe at 2050 FM 663 serves pancakes, omelets and skillets. Ale's Kitchen at 3261 FM 663 has been a locally owned restaurant and bar since 2021. Union 28 at 651 Highlander Ave is a tap house and wine cellar with an outdoor venue, bingo, karaoke, weekend live music and visiting food trucks.
The newest arrivals are on the highways. Olive Garden opened on US 67 in July 2026. Einstein Bros. Bagels and Mo' Bettahs both opened at Nicolette Creek in June 2026.
