Before you hire a contractor in Seven Points

  • Look up the license yourself. Search the license number shown above for HVAC contractors in TDLR's license search.
  • A/C and heating work needs a state license. Under TDLR rules, anyone who installs, repairs or maintains air conditioning, refrigeration or heating systems must be licensed, and every A/C company must employ a licensed contractor at each permanent office.
  • Watch for high-pressure sales. State rules bar A/C contractors from misrepresenting the need for a repair or making false statements to win a job (16 TAC §75.70). A second quote is a reasonable way to check a big repair.
  • If something goes wrong, you can file a complaint with TDLR at (800) 803-9202.
