What a Website Can Actually Do for a Church

It can answer the three questions somebody has at 10 PM on a Saturday night: What time is service? Where are you? What do you believe? That's what most church websites need to do well, and most don't. They bury service times behind two or three clicks. The address is there but there's no map link that actually opens directions on a phone. The beliefs page hasn't been updated since it was first posted.

A good church site also gives people a way in before they ever walk through your doors. A prayer request form. A page about your youth group or women's ministry. An event calendar that's current — not showing last year's VBS. These aren't fancy features. They're just the stuff that tells someone this is an active, living church and not a building they drive past on the way to the grocery store.
