Forney's directory lists more than 90 restaurants. The independent spots are clustered in the small historic downtown along E Main St, W Broad St and S Bois D'Arc St. The chains sit along US-80, FM 548 and Pinson Rd. In 1987 the Texas Legislature named Forney the Antique Capital of Texas, so a downtown meal fits easily into an antiquing day.
Downtown Forney
Mama's Daughters' Diner (111 E Main St) is the downtown location of the DFW home-style diner group. It serves Southern breakfast, chicken-fried steak, plate lunches and pies. Forney Brewing Company (203 E Main St) brews its beers on site and has a scratch-made food menu. Eno's Pizza Tavern (215 S Bois D'Arc St) is the Forney outpost of the Bishop Arts pizza tavern, with craft beer, wine and cocktails. Doe Belly's (300 W Broad St) is a Cajun and Creole seafood cafe for fried catfish and shrimp, open Wednesday through Saturday. NoDoubt BBQ (205 W Broad St) serves barbecue, Stash's Table & Fable (212 S Bois D Arc St) serves burgers and specialty drinks, and Latham Bakery (106 E Main St) sells cakes, pastries and deli sandwiches.
Family Tex-Mex and Italian
Madre's Cocina (425 Pinson Rd) has served Forney since 2007. Rio Lerma Mexican Restaurant (124 E US-80) opened in 2011 and Los Hermanos (426 FM 548) in 2012. Napoli's Bistro started at 111 E Main St and moved to 780 E US-80 in 2017. Pizza Grand (420 Pinson Rd) is a family-owned pizza shop that has been in Forney since 2010. For steaks, there is Alfredo's Steakhouse (111 E US-80), which has a salad bar, and an Outback Steakhouse that opened on the W US-80 frontage in September 2024.
Asian Restaurants
Tokyo Harbor (724 E US-80) has a full bar and has been operating since 2015. Thai Square Sushi (1012 E US-80) has served pad thai, curries and specialty rolls since 2017. Thai.Pho (426 FM 548) has served Thai and Vietnamese food since 2019. Newer additions include Oishii Ramen & Bar (301 Marketplace Blvd), open since late 2023, and Koiyama Fusion Asian & Sushi Bar (485 Marketplace Blvd).
Five Points Distilling
Five Points Distilling, at 8575 Union Hill Rd with a Forney address, makes Lone Elm straight wheat whiskey from Texas red winter wheat. The distillery was established in 2012. It offers tours, so check its schedule before you drive out.
